Question Help & Info for SW Upcoming Trip ??

Well we have kind of done all the SE and I had been looking into flying to Albuquerque and spending a week riding northern NM ..southern Col. But last weekend i was in Phoenix Arz for the AMA Flattrack and talked to some folks that were there for a couple of extra days riding and talked up the N part of Arz. Looking for info and opinions on which would be a better starting point for a week long trip Phoenix Arz or Albuquerque NM ??
Places to stay on the road , things that are a must see, routes that we should consider, SAFTEY as it would be Myself and the wife. We have been to Arizona in the car before but not on the bike.
Any help Pro's & Cons & Input plzz ??

Default I'd start from Albuquerque

OK, OK.. I live in Albuquerque so call me prejudiced if you will,
but I think it's a better starting location.

Million Dollar Highway.. 4 hours
Grand Canyon............ 5 hours
Monument Valley........ 5+ hours
Meteor Crater.............3+ hours (not worth it IMHO)
Santa Fe...................1 hour
Madrid...................... 1 hour (Wild Hogs filming site)
Cerillos......................1 hour (Young Guns filming site)
Tucumcari................. 4+ hours
Winslow.................... 3+ hours
Painted Desert / Petrified Forest... 3 hours
White Sands.............. 5 hours
Acoma Pueblo............. 2 hours (google it.. a must see)
Taos......................... 3 hours..

yadda-yadda-yadda-yadda..

Get the idea?

BTW, I'd post this in "Road Trips".. there's a lot more people
watching that forum, many who either live in or have traveled
the SW..

Four Corners -- Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley

I love the view of Eagle Nest coming in from the east.

Taos, Red River, Angelfire - the enchanted circle. 120 miles north from ABQ.
The ride from Hillsboro to Silver City should not be missed. 180 miles south.
From Silver City you can head west to Arizona and ride 191,the Devil's Highway.
I think it's 1100 curves in 99 miles.
