Not I, that things gotten a bit overpriced lately. I will hit 6th St for a bit of fun in the evening but then stick to riding in the hill country. Meet a bunch of good folks at different stops in the hills from all round the country during the rally. That's my enjoyment.

$65 for 3 days is not cheap but for what they have I can justify it. That's a travel expense, i.e. write off.

I've been a couple of times but if you've been inside one rally you been there done that! Like another poster said. Hit 6th street during the evening and ride the beautiful hill country by day. Well unless you really want to see a bunch of naked chicks that REALLY shouldn't be getting naked

Never have been in the grounds of the rally itself, but enjoy 6th street on Friday night
and riding the hill country during the day. Missed it last year. Hopefully will not have to this year.

They just announced they're adding a second venue in Austin just across the river at the newspaper and Texas DOT grounds... "family friendly" Looks like Los Lonely Boys playing there on one of the nights. Travis Expo wristband gets you in both places.

Default Rot rally lodging advice

Hello,

I'm riding from Northern California to New Mexico and from there me and my buddy are riding to Austin. We want to stay in an area that is centrally located to the Travis County Expo and Downtown Austin.

This will be my 3rd run at ROT. Previous years, we split time between the grounds during the day and downtown at night. This year we will be on the grounds, camping in an RV... I agree, been there, done that.. But it will be a good time

Someone else posted another thread asking about the right rally. This will be my first time going and I'm looking forward to it. The site says that they shut down about 50 blocks of downtown for it. Sounds like it'll be a blast
