Default 4" over front end

I bought a 92 sporty with a 39mm 4" over front end and was curious if anyone can give me a run down on how to rebuild them they feel "squishy" and I would like to know if anybody would be willing to point me on the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

I won't re-invent the wheel, so instead here's some good info that I used when I stiffened the front end up on my old sporty.

Are you running the stock 39mm front end with just longer fork tubes and a rake kit?

Right on thanks for the link I know that the fork tubes are longer but no rake kit so the front end of the bike is kicked up

Yeah man, no problem...hope it helps.
On a side note, I would consider a rake so that you have the correct trail for better handling. I don't have personal experience but I've read that you can get away with 2" in or 4" in over with no rake but anything over 4" without the correct rake/trail is pretty dangerous. Just something to maybe think about and read up on if you want to.

Ill diffenantly look into it she does get a little squirly at higher speeds anything above 75MPH I'm also looking at getting a fork brace there have been a few "oh ****" moments with that longer front end

Yeah that is scary stuff indeed. I would spend the money to do it up right and have peace of mind that you have that extra margin of safety under you.

I know those oh **** moments all too well. I had to stiffen my front end up when I got stationed out here in England. The roads here are terrible and bumpy as hell. I pogoed my front end around a bend one time and that was enough. Scared me half to death with oncoming cars blowing past me.

If you look up trail on the internet you can learn how to measure your trail. With 4" over it's probably screwed up. I used 3 degree trees on mine and it was screwed up until I lowered the rear of the bike a LOT, now it looks cool and the trail right back where it's suppose to be.
If you change the front springs and better oil it will make it a different bike but not as good as it could be if the trail is screwed up.
