Default The New Progressive 412 Cruise??

I'm finishing up my build on my Nightster and my last bit is the shocks. I was going to go with the normal 412 but came across the 412 cruise. Anybody have any insight on these? Comparison over the normal 412 Shocks?

From Progressive:The new 412 Cruise is the perfect balance of lowered stance and ride quality. By combining a flat-wire spring with a progressive main spring the 12.5” shock sits like 11.5” units under the weight of the bike, yet utilize the full stroke as terrain demands it. The result is a lowered shock that rides like a traditional height unit.

How does the flat-wire spring part work? It looks permanently compressed even with no weight.

Those upper coils are about .125" apart, as the load increases the coils touch one at a time progressively stiffening the spring. That's the idea anyway.
