Mustang Solo Day Tripper Seat.....

Mustang Solo Day Tripper Seat.....
I really tried to like the seat....it looks great and stuff.....but, it just turned out to be a pain in the ***. literally. I'm a lighter rider, around 150 lbs, and just got bounced up and down on it. It's a REALLY firm seat and because I'm short, and have shorter legs, the insides of my thighs near my butt get too much pressure from the corner of the seat at stoplights. No bueno. It's such a pity too cause the seat is so well built and looks amazing on the bike....Oh well.
...back to my reduced reach HD seat till I find a better replacement.
Any suggestions will be great I've already changed the suspension on my 48 so this is my last attempt at finding "long range" comfort - freeway riding that doesn't massacre my physique. Currently anything over 5 miles on a freeway is just plain uncomfortable.

If you like the seat, give these guys a shout. http://www.meancitycycles.com Lots of guys in the Touring forum use them and are quite satisfied. They use memory foam and can reshape as well. I used them to do my King seat
I grew up in Three-one-O but these guys are near me in Seven-O-four.

If your bike has stock forward controls , try mids just for kicks.
A change in position of your feet will make any seat feel completely different.
I tried mids on mine and really liked the position , but my hip would cramp bad when the stoplight turned and I had to lift my feet into position.
The bars felt closer and the seating position lifted pressure off my tailbone , even the stock seat felt better.
The only negative other than the hip cramp was the pegs are pretty much in the way at a dead stop , and I have long legs rather than short.
Even footboards might be a blessing on the highway for the longer hauls.

Had the same experience, surprising because I had had two mustang seats on other bikes that were great (wide nostalgia) but the daytripper stunk, I sent it off to mean city cycles and it was definitely better but not good still, you can put lipstick on a pig, but still a pig. Got another wide nostalgia.

I actually tried a custom padded seat they made at the dealer and it still didnt feel right and hurt even more. I ended up returning my Mustang seat and run just put back on my reduced reach seat. I think now I might try and find some mini-riser clamps that bring my bars up a little. Maybe keeping me at a more upright position will fix it? I just don't want apes, as I find them too drastic for my positioning and style. Thanks for the responses everyone!

I had the opposite happen, bought a Sick Saddles leather w/memory foam and it was too cushy/soft. My nuts went numb a couple of times and had to pit stop, get off the bike and walk it off, not a good feeling at all. Bought the Mustang Tripper Solo and all is good, a much firmer seat that takes a few thousand miles to break-in. Wouldn't swap it now for anything....
