hello there, i will be repainting my tank in the near future and i'm not sure what too do for the tank logo. I dont want too spend 90.00 per side for replacement decals from stealer.
i am wondering about some silver leaf for the logo on the sides of the tank or possibly some copper leaf. i could also do some vinyl film. or just have a good painter do something on the tank.
Who has done what and what are your opinions/suggestions?

 

On a budget.....
1) I had a sign maker once make decal and clear coated over them.
2) Find a generic Harley sticker and just stick on over the paint.
3) Try a metal/ plastic Harley badge and sick on with double sided tape.
Unlimited...
1) Custom painted logo and clear coat over.
IMO not knowing the style of your bike the badge would give a more retro look than a decal.
Any style you choice will be awesome.

 

I had my tank powder coated a couple years ago. I bought decals on eBay. I think they are vinyl. They were like $30 for the pair. I didn't clear coat or anything over the sticker.

 

I recently spent the 90 bucks each side, just because they look so good!
