Default zombie stainless sportster cable guide

Just finished checking out the Zombie Performance site and came across a stainless cable guide which as it is named provides guide to route your cables and wires behind light housing. Has anyone tried one and how did it fit for installation. Description states that you may have to fiddle with it to get a fit. Anyone tried one and how did it fit.

Appears the fitment note that you mentioned only applies to the 35mm narrow glide (the "*" is a note on the 35mm), not the 39mm. Don't know what bike you have but my bike has a 39mm fork.

hscic I have a 2007 XL 1200 Custom. Have you installed this cable guide on your sportster and if so how do you like it.

No, I still have the stock visor....I kind of like the look of the stock visor even with an aftermarket headlight. It also keeps the wires secure and hidden.

My comments were just to help answer your question based on information on the product and since there were no responses to your question. I have never heard of Zombie Performance. Perhaps it's better to inquire directly with the supplier on fitment. IMHO I would not use the guide. Although it secures the wires, it does not hide it. It is a personal preference. The guide as well as the stock visor are only for aesthetics.

Thanks for the reply. I had talked with the rep. at Zombie and he had indicated they used a nightster as a example and he thought it would probably fit my application. Just thought I would ask for input from the rest of the forum members. Thanks for the pics. You had mentioned you have an aftermarket headlight. Could you tell me what make it is and if it is led or halogen. THanks

The small one is 4 7/8" diameter from DK Customs. I am also using DK's relocation kit.

The larger one is a 7" diameter from J&P Cycles

Both came with halogen but I replaced the halogen with a LED bulb with integrated ballast.

Thanks Madison Bill for the input. Nice to know there are more options. To HSCIC I really like the look of the headlights. It says at the JP site it comes with a bates mount. When you installed the 7 inch headlight did you use the bates mount or the DK relocation hardware to make it fit and is the DK headlight a noticeable improvement in your opinion in the stock modes. Thanks

I used the headlight mount. Maybe you can see it in this pic.

IMO DK headlight has better reflectors than stock so projection of light is an improvement. I did not use the halogen that came with both headlights so the better lighting may have been due to the LED.

I recently installed one of these on my 2013 XL Custom. I worked with Steffan @ zombie who had me take measurements of the mounts to make sure the piece would fit since the existing guide fit the earlier (2009 and earlier) model sportsters.

The fit was snug but I made sure and started the bolts on both sides and tightened the piece down evenly.

I'll take some pics and add so you can see the finished product mounted on my bike.

I'm happy with it as it gives it a finished look since there are no longer two unoccupied bolt holes.

Zombie was great to work with and delivered a quality product.
