Push down, it pops up, you rotate it and lift up. Buford T. Pusser must have designed these things because they're partly under the seat, the edge isn't knurled and it takes both hands to rotate the damned thing, if you can get it out at all!!

They could have just put a window in the oil tank, hmmbut nooooooooooooo!!:ico n_doh:

I got one of those but my original was super easy to use as well.

 

I know what you mean, I had to use a strap wrench to remove mine after setting over winter. After removal I lubed up o-ring and now its much better ,but if I don't remove frequently it will stick again, may try one with temp gauge.

Just like anything "hole-related"...just play/fumble with it long enough & it opens up...

JK, you're correct...the 05+ oil tank/dipstick sux a$$...that's why I like my 03.
