Default Internally Wiring Bars

I was planning on tackling this today and I can't seem to figure out how to remove the plug that is located on the end of each hand control. I did find a video on YouTube and it shows all you need to do is insert a needle into unit and it will release. I have tried it with no luck.

Run a string in the bars. Lube the wiring harness with windex. Tie/tape them to the string and do more pushing of the wiring harness than pulling. Toughest part for me was getting the string through the bars

BEFORE INSTALLING THE HANDLEBARS. Tie a nut to the end of a piece of string, make the string longer than you need. Use gravity to turn the bars around and get the string all the way through. Tie both ends of the string together, because when you install them the string might fall in the hole and it's WAY harder to fish the string through when the bars are installed.

Windex is not a lubricant so I cannot recommend that, you may as well use water if you're doing that. You most likely don't need lubrication of any kind. Make sure when you tape the wires to the string that you taper the tip so it can move through the bars smoothly and not get caught on anything. Electrical tape is easy to use.

I had to open them, first you need to flip the plastic part to open the connector, you need to pull back the orange rubber protecting wires from water. Then I used a really small flat screw driver (for glasses) and pushed it in the wire socket on the top side of the connector, the wire pulls out when you push in far enough.... Hope that helps. As you can see in my picture, the connector on mine eventually broke where it is supposed to rotate 90 degrees but it went back in fine and then I put a little glue on the seam where it broke

I just installed LA choppers 12" narrow Z bars with no need for extended wires, I used a small length of chain and fed it through the bars kept the connectors on and pulled through with no issues.
