Strange place for red loctite
Installed a DK spring solo seat and found the rear tank mount bolt frozen. I used a heat gun and got it hot to the touch and it came loose.
Just seems like a surprising place to use the red vs blue loctite. The bike is a new 2016 iron 883.
Other than that it was an easy install.

There are more variations of Loctite these days that we each have fingers! I'm not sure any of them are actually red. On a new bike the screws usually come with pre-installed thread locking agent, which is neither red nor blue, more a yellow colour. Did you actually find red loctite? If so it suggests that was used after your bike was built.

Most all commercial grads are red that I see. The non permanent (call blue at part store) on a Harley are usually white and they come dry on replacement bolts. (the reason you see in the manual where it says to replace bolts) Before I retired, ever assembly work package had all the supplies for each assembly. We had 100's of assemblies a month. We literally thru 1000's of bottles away a year. Some may have had a drop or two used out of them. To make sure someone did not use wrong materials, rods, lubricants...ect , ever work area was cleaned up before new assembly was started.
