Hi Kevin, this is the plastic ring I was talking about on the Sportster Forum. It goes on the a/c backing plate at the entrance to the carb. on my 2000 Sportster Screamin Eagle a/c. My son's 98 Low Rider has one also, only a little larger. Definitely looks to have an effect on how the air flows into the carb. after it passes through the air cleaner. I am wondering how important it might be to incorporate into our after market or DIY air cleaners.

Just went and checked my emails...not sure why, but never got it.
Yes, we have tested those radius rings. We never saw a difference in power from them...did not improve or take away anything.
In theory it seems like they should work, but we just did not see it. The only thing we could think of was that the sharp outer edge/lip neutralized any benefit of the radius-ed inner surface.
I think if the outer surface was radius-ed also, then it would seem that there would some some benefit to it.
