Suggestions on jet size?
My '01 883C already had drag pipes when I got it. I just purchased a K&N filter, which I plan to install, as well as some lollipop baffles. I'm curious about jet sizes. Bike runs decent right now with the pipes, but I don't know how well it will run after the filter and baffles are installed. After doing some reading, I found a suggested #45 slow and #170 main jets, but IDK. What size jets do you reccomend after these mods?

I'm certain that you will get a few ideas from the folks on the forum but, you will probably have to do a little experiementing to get the exact right combination. I'm running a 46 low jet, 180 main that gets me an average 50 mpg on my 06 883. Good response, power, etc. I'm happy.

RE: Suggestions on jet size?
The needle jet will make a difference in the low to mid range response in metering the air/fuel mixture. When it is raised up with a shim (a small washer or washers) it changes the flow.Raising it higher will richen the mixture because the thinner portion of the needle is allowing more gas around it.It is not always necessary to change this but, is frequently done along with the jet changes. I've done this to mine as well. I didn't mention it to you because it will confuse you on the basics. You should look into some of the articles about carbs and their modifications to understand what is happening and, what you can do to the stock set up. Suggest that you go to nightrider.com and look up CV carb modifications. It has a diagrahm that will be of benefit to you.
