Default leaking fuel inlet

I have a slight leak at my carb at the inlet for the fuel. It is on there very tight. How do I get it off and where do I get the replacement?

you mean the manifold. You need a 1/4 inch ball-ended allen key. and a half inch open ended wrench. you also need to buy a new carb seal and manifold seals, that should be under $20

other than that, pretty simple job IMHO

No, where the fuel line comes into the carb. There is an elbow joint there it is hard plastic.

It's probably cracked....get a brass replacement...pretty cheap. You can get em from most indy parts shops and from sites like J&P.

be prepared...if it is like mine...

plastic is mounted to brass piece pressed into carb

plastic WILL break..and leave brass piece stuck in carb

real PIA to get out but it will come out..

i took a pair of visegrips and...twist..pull...twist..pull..hammer...curse... twist...pull
but it WILL come out...

replacement part is all brass...no more plastic..it will be fixed forever once it's done..

Vice grips yes, hammer no, cursing optional. Get the vice grips on as tight as you can make 'em, push pull and twist. Brass replacement taps in with a small hammer. easy. More fuel flow too. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to use plastic in the first place??

ok - so i had this same problem, and i got my old plastic POS inlet out. Now it appears to me the new one just presses into the hole. How did you guys press it in before i start? Any pointers on getting the new one back in?

As mentioned above, just set it how you want it positioned and tap tap tap it in with a small hammer, nice and gently. Easier than you think.

U can also break the plastic elbow off then stuff some cloth deep in the inlet port.. Tap the brass with threads.. Then use a long bolt same size threads a piece of metal pipe slightly bigger the the brass inlet a big washer and a nut.. Screw nut all the way to the head of bolt then slide washer on then insert into pipe then then tread onto tapped inlet and simply tighten down on the nut and presto uve made ur own inlet puller.. It really is a lot easier than it sounds
