Default Willie and Max Saddlebags?

Anyone ever have these? Theres a listing on craigslist around me for them and it just says "1. Willie & Max Saddlebags, Off 04 Sportster, Never used, Molded Leather with 2 straps. $80.00" I asked for a pic: Debating on getting them. They are throw over which I am not particularly a fan of, but I would like to have some sort of saddlebag if I ditch the backrest/2 up seat which I really wanna do but can't find a stock solo seat for my year >O

They look a lot like the W&M bags I first had on my bike. I upgraded to larger bags from Leatherup.com. Couldn't fit much in the W&M bags during overnight trips.

As for the quality of the bags, I had no issues with them.

They look like Compact Slants... If you shop around I am guessing you could find them new for about the same price. I have the braided version on mine and paid ~$89 new.... The newer version of these have quick release closure buckles....

I bought those exact same bags back in 2004 and paid $100 from W&M. They're great bags and have held up very well. They're great for day runs but not well suited for the long haul as would be the case for a touring type bag.

Exactly what 7/11 said for the quality and usage. As for these, they are considered used even though it states they were never used on a bike. Offer $30.00 on up to whatever you think is fair... $30.00 is probably worth more to the seller than $0 which is what the bags are worth setting unused in their garage. ;^)

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't use them for long hauls since I really don't go on long trips. But I mean just to throw things in there every now and then. During the summer I would bungee cord a backpack to my backrest with some lunch in there. And every now and then I'd throw a pair of clothes/shoes, simple stuff like that. I'll ask for the size of them.

I just picked up a set a compact slant W&M today. They are great bags. I didnt like the way they looked on my Sporty, but they look perfect on my Vulcan.

You won't need the back pack. I can put an ice pack with a six pack in one side with some lunch and use the other side for the other things I may need to carry. You'll be surprised at what you can get in those bags.
