Does anyone know what this part number is for? Engine Temp sensor may be??? My bike was throwing a check engine light after the install of my Pc III for this part number. I cleared the code and the check engine light hasn't came back on as of yet so I guess its ok for now. I'm just wondering in case it comes back on in the future.

I think that part is the Engine Temp Sensor. When you installed the PCIII did you have both the ignition AND kill switch in the off position? Also, try checking the wiring on the engine temp sensor on the rear of the front head.

I think that number is the part number for the ECM.It should only be telling you a code for what it thinks is wrong.

I think from the information I have been reading I made a mistake when I installed the PC III in the begining. I Didn't have the ignition off at the time I installed the PC III. I have managed to clear the code and it hasn't returned so I hope every thing is ok now. the bike runs fine, better than ever. I was wondering what I did to make the engine light come on for a few seconds and go back out. I heard these were called historical codes or something like that. I went out on the bike for a couple hours and I never showed back up so we will see. I know it was giving the part number to something and from what I have been reading I really shouldn't worry about it. Does anyone disagree with this??? If so let me know. Thanks.

I have a parts book for my 08 1200C, and that number is not in my index. Hope that helps. Ride safe.

Is this a real P/N? I have checked with Zanotti and the number isn't even registered.

I'm not sure myself. i think tomorrow i'm going to stop by the dealer while i'm out with the family and talk to them and see what they say just to be on the safe side even though the code hasn't shown back up again.

Hi. I just bought a used '07 XL1200C and am getting this code. Every search I have done has given me different answers. Did you find out anything on it? Thanks!
