Default Best wide tire kit?

I really like the 180/200 look on Sportsters, just wondering who makes the best kit as far a all things included like fender, wheel, tire, bolts, etc and is teh easiest to install? If I do this ill do it slowly over the winter and be done before riding season comes back around next year. Anyone who can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated

I did a Bros Mfg 250 tire kit last winter. It was an easy install, and came with everything needed to do the job.
I think they have a 200 kit too, but am not sure.

With 250 did it take away from the handling or does it improve also do they include wheel and tire or was that bought seperate?

Also what rear wheel did you end up using and what size tire, I know 250 but what height for what wheel 16's or 18's? Thanks

I like that chopper look. How much did that run you? Looks real cool with the apes too.

The kit for the 250 tire came complete, tire, wheel, swing arm, and every nut, bolt, and washer needed to do the work. All I needed was lock-tight and a license plate frame.
Improve the handleing??? No way! The wider the tire, the harder it is to steer! It took a little bit to get used to it, but it is certainly not a "canyon carver" anymore!
It is a low profile Avon Venom tire, 250 40R 18.

The front look was achieved by a frame chop. It was cut 1/2 way down the front down tubes and 4" extensions put in there, and also cut under the seat for an angled extension. I had someone else do that work for me 'cuz I ain't no welder. All together it was about $1900.

Kahaone,

How long ago did you purchase your kit? it seems that prices that gone up now. I just saw it for $2400 from their website.

I am seriously going to consider using my tax refund for this mod.

I have heard that Roland Sands is going to come out with some custom Sporters parts by the end of the year/first part of next year...I'm sure he won't let you down with anything he puts out...since you are taking your time and all...

Well, the wider tire is naturally harder to turn than a skinny one. Especially when you use a low profile tire. There is not much sidewall on a low profile tire.
The first day riding it, it really opened my eyes. It felt as if it was trying to straighten me up in every turn. After a day or two though I was completely comfortable with it, and used to the difference in handleing. But, as I said before, it is not a "canyon carver". You need to make turns at a slower speed, and with more fore thought. If you do happen to get into a turn too fast....well, it wakes you up! Of course, the same thing will happen with a skinny tire. It's just that with the wider tire, the approach speed needs to be lower.
But, that said, I'd never consider removing it! I get a lot of attention at any gathering, and people are always stopping to lok at it. It certainly is a different looking Sportster! For me, I'd rather have a cool looking bike, than a speedster. I'm just a cruiser anyway, and prefer enjoying the scenery, instead than having it fly by at 90mph.

I bought my kit in January this year. It was $2199 at that time.
