I have a question for all you more experience Sportster riders... I have an '06 XL1200C and had a set of Progressive 412 12" Heavy Duty shocks installed. To my surprise this made the back end about 1/4" to 1/2" higher than stock. My neighbor gave me a set of Progressive 412 11" Heavy Duty shocks (used of course) and wanted to get your opinions on if you think the 11" would be better or give a more comfortable ride. The 12" ones are WAY better than stock, but was just curious if it would be better to do 1" shorter in the back. I think this would put the back end about 1/2" to 3/4" lower than stock.

 

I will be changing from the stock 13.5" shocks on my '03XLH to Progressives' and am thinking going to 12.5" or 12", don't know yet if the standard or HD will do the job. Watching this post also.

I have put the shocks from an 05 custom sporty on my 03 sporty they made a huge difference mych lower seating and better handeling they are about 11.5".
Easy install about 15 min.
