Default Air shock air line install on the Sporty

The big question of the day seems to be "where do you install/ hide the valve"?

There really aren't a whole lot of places on my bike if I want it accessible without having to dismantle half the bike. One solution I found was to install it in my saddle bag seen in the first 3 pictures.

The second option is maybe to install it on the fender/ saddle bag bolt seen in the 4th picture. If you have installed this, where did you put it? Do you also have the bags and sissy bar?

Personally i'd just leave the lines off. Just use a simple shreader valve on each shock seperately, and keep things clean. And if you don't have one, you can get a little hand pump from harley with a gauge for about $30 which is very acurate. Almost everone i've seen using air shocks have them set up independantly without lines. Otherwise if it makes you happy to have the lines, then it looks like your hidding it under the saddle bag should work just fine, keep it easily accessible to repressurize for 2up riding.

I had those. I have to remove the bags to get to the valve. As you will notice, there isn't much clearance in there.

How did you run the longer hose across the bike?

I had enough hose to run under the seat, tucked close to the ECM. And then the line wraps between the fender and the fender support, comes up and into the brass fitting.

I can take some pictures when I get home.

The first pic is the left side and the second pic is the right side. Looking to the rear from the front. The air line runs just in front of the ECM.

Mounted 12" RK shocks on my Iron with airlines.
Bought an extra 3' of airline from the dealer and that was more than enough to run the lines. Have extra now as the factory "long" line was enough then just cut some to replace the "short" line.
Ran the line behind the side covers to the valve mounted on the frame.
Valve was mounted just ahead of the seat on the frame. In fact you have to pull back the tip of the seat to add air. Let go of the seat and the valve is hidden. Hope the pics help and as for the ride it is completely night & day (of course I'm 240lbs so ride was very stiff before) I am running 5lbs of air and that is where I feel it is good for me. BTW to mount the valve I did not use the metal bracket, just drilled a hole for a screw and put it on. Now the valve should be safe from any damage as my leg does not press against it at all.
