Tire report
Although it has only been about 150 miles on the new tires, I have got to say the difference is unbelievable. I bought my bike used and the PO had recently installed a new set of OEM Dunlop 401s. I literally got a bit over 3000 miles from them. The caught every groove in the road, and followed them with precision. They successfully chased down every tar snake they came across, riding its back its entire length to insure every bone it had was broken.
Enter my new Dunlop American Eagles. OMG I would not have dreamed there could be this much difference. The bike now ignores tar snakes and grooves. Its like a whole new bike. The handling is so much improved also. They even seem to absorb road bumps far better.
I have now idea how either tire is constructed, but all I can say is, it makes a difference.
If anyone is sitting on the fence about these tires, do not be afraid to hop off. Mileage wise, will have to wait and see.

I wonder then if the original tyre was not given any time to scrub in and just ragged?
With your experience I guess you know to take it easy for the first whatever miles?
Shouldn't that be Elite not Eagles?
Just checked and the exact size is not available for my wheels. I would have to get a slightly wider tyre front and rear.

Yes it is Elite, thanks. I am not a real aggressive rider anyway so its not like I ever push my tires to the limit. The first time I rode on them was sbout 10 miles, all on our curvy road, but I didn't take the bike to even half of its potential lean angles, nor do I do acceleration blasts, or hard stopping. 90% of the time I drive like the old guy I am. Lol

The Dunlop tyres have a higher load rating but a lower speed rating to the Michelin Scorcher "11T" tyres recommended for my bike.
Michelin 59W front versus Dunlop 63H and Michelin 69W versus Dunlop 73V rear.

I was on the Dunlop site that showed all sizes available:

They are available here.

not sure if they are across the pond.
