Charging the Battery how do you guys do it.
Ok!This is my method,Nightster with alarm...Remove side cover,...turn ignition key to on,...remove Maxi fuse....remove positive terminal connections.Clip battery charger..negative to negative terminal mounting bolt on engine casing...attach positive to positive on battery... turn on charger... set amperage.
The reason I'm pulling the maxi fuse is it turns off the alarm, the reason I'm disconnecting the battery is I don't want to tempt fate and have any of the electronics connected while charging.
Quick charge 30min and I'm ready to go.

A whole lot easier and faster to connect a pigtail to the battery then just plug in the tender.

+1 on the pigtail. I installed the pigtail so that the plug is easy to get to with the battery cover closed. All I do is plug the charger cable into the pigtail, then plug the charger into the wall. Only takes a few seconds to do.

Install one of these on your battery, and buy a battery tender that has a matching connector. When you need to charge it, plug it into the bike, and plug the charger into the wall. The security system has nothing to do with anything. My 09 has a security system with siren and that's the way to do it. Now in the warmer months, I just ride it. You are doing way too much work.

+1 on the battery tender, I bought one at Wal-mart for around $22 . Plug in in after Your ride to the pigtail and it keeps the battery charged . I believe it adds to battery life also, but may be wrong. Sure is easy .....WVleo

Pigtails, cheap and easy fix. They even have cables so you could jump another bike with a dead battery if they have a pigtail.

X2 this is just too easy...I have mine attached to the frame so it stays on forever and I have easy access also.

I use a pigtail and plug in an optimate4 once a week, it tops up the battery charge and then tests the battery. No need to disconnect or turn anything off.
