Default Want to use 07 tank on 05 883. Fuel sending unit issue.

Hi. I have an 05 Sportster 883 that has a rancid gas tank with holes rusting through. I sourced a gorgeous set of tins from an 07 Sportster, but it has a fuel sending unit, not simply a petcock.
Here’s the issue. I need a fuel sending unit, to delete everything off of it and simply install a petcock, or better yet, find a delete plate to weld a petcock male end to, and I’d be golden.
Does ANYONE know if such a unicorn exists. The more I have to fabricate, the less this looks like a good idea. Any help?

Welcome to the forum.
Do an introduction first if you're planning on staying.
Pingel makes a kit for the big bikes, not sure if it's the same.

I found this - EFI to Carburetor Conversion for Sportster®

It also mentions the Pingel petcock.

It isn't just a fuel sending unit, tho maybe that's the new techie name for a fuel pump and associated bits. You can make a plate and add a bung for a petcock, but also need to see if there is a difference in how the fuel injected tank vs carbureted tank vent.

The California EFI bikes vent the gas tank to a canister and I believe it is connected to the throttle body.

My 2013 vents down under the bottom of the tank to the frame and out under the battery cover.
