Default Brake lever adjustment?

So I replaced my levers (2000 sportster. From stock levers to a set of Paul Yaffe Pistol style levers). The snap ring pliers were a big help. Thanks for the advice. I got both on relatively easy. The clutch took the longest but it works flawlessly. But the brake is another story. It went on smooth, but now it doesn't bite as soon as before. Any suggestions. Not sure if it is my new levers or not but before I could hold the front brake with my fore and middle finger and roll the throttle with my hand on take offs. Now I have to hold the brake lever all the way down for it to bite not allowing me to slip my ring and pinky in on the throttle. Any way to adjust that? (The brake lever that is so it bites sooner before pulling the lever all the way to the throttle, which is what it does now.) Thanks

Being that it's hydraulic, there's not much to adjust. Did you maybe get some air in the system? You can try bleeding the brakes.

I would remove the lever and compare it to the stock one. Maybe the part of the lever that pushes the master cylinder piston is shorter than the stock one. Or the lever is at a different angle.

Hi thanks for all replies. It seems the angle of the lever is slightly different but the part that pushes is the same. Don't think I got air in it, but not sure. It does feel a little looser though.

If there's space between the master cylinder piston and the lever you can drill and tap the lever for a small cap screw - maybe. I'd have to look at it to be sure. If I were you I would call the lever manufacturer and ask them what to do.
