Default Brake lever???

So today I noticed the front brake lever was stiffer than normal. Brakes working fine but there was no give in the lever. So I get back on my bike to go pu dinner tonight and there's alot of slack and play in the lever. Again, brakes worked fine but now the lever has alot of give to it.

Any ideas what this could be?

I'm just guessing without being able to take a look, but are the adjuster nuts snugged up to the handgrip? If they are loose, the casings can get "caught" and cause a lever with no play; if they they are loose and not "caught", they can act with a lot of slack.

Well you may have to rebuild the master cylinder, since a tech around here mentioned it's a known problem with the dual brakes. I've read more than a few people having this problem. If you're still under warranty take it in.

totally agree with alexcue. my 05 1200r is having the same problems. took it to dealer and they said that they will have to take master cylinder apart to find problem. i suspect a master cylinder rebuild will be in the near future for my bike. it is annoying though, one day it acts hosed up and they next day just fine.
