Integrated tail light/turn signals

Integrated tail light/turn signals
I am trying to wire an integrated tail light and turn signal, led light system on my 2001 sporty.
There was an included harness for the brake and tail light portion and that portion works perfectly! There are only single wires for the signals in the new light, pre-attached. I have connected the hot(purple)wire from the original lighting, but the signals turn on continuously only when the thumb switch is activated. Grounding the black wire does nothing... Does anybody have any idea what i'm doing wrong??? Or how to wire it up?

you may need a turn signal modulator. It balances the load on the LED lights. Not sure on this but it was the prob on mine(99 xlc) when I wired my LED's. Also, LED's are funny in the respect that they only work properly when they have full power. Mine will light and blink when my bike is not running but they blink slow and not all the LED's light up. This drove me nuts when I installed mine. Good luck!
