Default 2007 Nightster no priming sound ??

I ve read all about the fuel pump issues, bike has 8700 miles almost ridden daily. Maintained immaculately and never an issue. Last week primer sound and starter sounded weaker then usual but it started and ran great all day and night. Next day no primer sound but engine light comes on goes off then engine will try and turn over but obviously not fire. New battery, all fuses are fine, no codes to report. Any ideas guys, thanks Mark in Miami

maybe not , check the fuses , they have a tendancy too corrode and that will stop things from working , if the fuse contacts are corroded scrape them clean , clean the fuse socket contacts , apply dielectric grease , ride on

I suspect your pump is toasted. Pull it out and hot wire it to be sure.

Default fuel pump relay...

Mine went 4 months after I bought my bike...2007 xl1200R...fuel pump just stopped...took it to dealer they replaced relay about $20 - $25 if I remember right it was last summer.

Hope this helps...

Always start at cheapest point and move towards most expensive....

Thankyou all my next question is as the starter does turn over I would assume the starter relay is okay... Is the relay mentioned replaced above the system relay in the fuse box or is it somewhere else. Sorry I am learning bikes,,,,, Mark

There are two square black relays in the fuse box, they are the same and interchangable. One controls the fuel pump and the other the starter. Try swaping them and see if your fuel pump runs then, those relays are famous for just quitting altogether or getting enough corrosion on the terminals that they won't work.

If Ya git the HD Service Book not an aftermarket book and a Miltimeter
you can check the pump without Pulling it..
First thing I bought for my Bike was that Book,,,
After I saw HD shop rates,,,
Less than One hour labor buys the book,,
I'm Just sayin,,,,,,,,,
