RE: Seat question
I ride solo all the time so I just pulled the trigger yesterday on a new Mustang Vintage Studded Standard seat. The reviews I have read promise great things for my butt. Can't wait until it gets here! I plan on putting a rack where the pillion would go so I'll be ready to haul what I need for some trips I have planned with a bunch of other riders who tour like that's all there is to do in this world.

RE: Seat question
I have a Corbin solo seat on my 1200 and love it. ( have done up to 450 miles in one day in comfort) They were great to work with( I had requested they shave the seat down as much as possible cause I'm short legged) and best of all have many, many choices for the leather or vinyl covering( patterns, and colors ). I selected deep red snakeskin and have matching tank and fender bibs plus mud flaps and fork covers. Looks sensational against my 2000 bright yellow paint job. from time of order to delivery was only 6 days. Plus once the seat arrived I called to ask about purchasing another bit of leather for the bibs, etc. and they wound up sending me 2 full extra hides at no charge. I am going to make a set of chaps with the left overs.

RE: Seat question
I don't think there is any "stock answer" to what seat is best, as each person's body shape is different.
It's kind of asking; "what size shoe is best". It just depends. LoL...
The best thing to do is try out as many different styles as possible and determine which fits you the best. A seat that feels best for a shorter heavier person might be the wrong choice for a taller person with a slim build.
That being said I absolutely love the 'stock seat' on my 2005 1200C. I'm pretty tall and thin, and the seat fits me better than any seat on the Harley's I current own, or have owned in the past.
I've made plenty of 500+ daily runs with the 1200C, and have experienced no discomfort at all.

OLDFENDERGUY, Yea I understand no one can pick a seat but the reviews are nice. I'm 5'9" and weigh 170 and the stock seat isn't uncomfortable but it has no back support at all and I feel like I'm sliding back all the time and having to readjust to bring myself forward. Thanks for the input guys.

RE: Seat question
I got the Mustang vintage standard solo, and I love it. Right when I first put it on I was scared cause it was so firm, but after riding a few hours I found that firmness is what made it so comfortable. My original was a pillow style 2-up harley seat, felt great for about 10 minutes, then I'd get sore in the groin area and find myself constantly readjusting myself on the seat. I found the firm mustang seats offer a lot more butt-cheek support, making it great for those long rides. I also plan on getting the matching passenger pillon by next summer.
