Default Fork oil

I have a 2000 883 and Im wanting to change the fork oil I bought a book and it tells me what kind of oil but it dont tell me how much. Does anyone now how much to use in each side? Thanks Dan

Just catch the oil draining from the fork tube in a measuring cup and put the same amount back in;

10 ounces, if you measure how much comes out ??? what if they leaked some?

9oz wet, 10.2 dry

Not the easiest job to measure when the fluid is squirting all over ... not like an oil change where everything drips into a pan.

changed my rear shocks and need to change my fork oil now... what oil and weight do you guys use?

my 2008R holds 11.6 oz's each side,,I do 350 ml's

So why confuse him ... 2000 are not the same as 2008.

Ah my bad,,all I saw was the same 39mm forks,,
I guess the Internals are different,,

Buy 2 bottles of HD fork oil, use one bottle per side.
