1998 sportster wiring diagram?
anybody have the wiring schematic for 1998 1200 sporster?It won't start.Problem is when key is on only the headlight lights up.Seems to be wiring.I know to check battery cables.Trying to help some poor kid fix his bike.

Check out Rinnie's Harley Davidson on-line and click on the OEM parts finder. You will find everything you want to know there.
You might want to check your starter and system relays for corrosion before you do anything else...just had a relay problem with my '07. Take it out, clean the corrosion off it with some sand paper, but di-electric grease on it and re-install. If it is corroded, I would replace it.

Are you turning the key all the way on and not stoping at the ACC position? In ACC, the lights will come on, but do nothing when you try to start.

Try checking the wiring behind the headlight. I have an 86 1100 that had a start problem and found a bad wire there.
