Default I really like my Sportster....

I have a 2011 FXDWG and its awesome. I recently acquired a nice 2000 XL1200C and after a few personel upgrades I love riding this bike. Im a big guy 6"2 350lbs and this thing rides me around like nothing. I rode it to FTHD here in OKC this morning for a scheduled oil change other than it being colder than $hit I loved riding this bike. The Sportster came with every accessory known to man.

Im one who would say I wouldn't buy a Sporty. But after getting this one I take it back. Sportsters are great bikes for real.

Yes, they are... and I was one of those guys who would always make jokes about Sporty's and riders who rode them but now I think otherwise. My Iron 1200 is a fun bike for the city, bar hopper and just a decent bike overall. Of course it doesn't compare to my Street Glide but that's another story... My SG is my main touring bike and my Iron is my fun, fun bike...

And you should! FXDWGs are "torquemeisters", but the Sporties are "revmeisters", and they're both GREAT bikes! I love my FXDWG, and I thought the Sportsters were "girls bikes" until I bought one for the OL, and got to ride it myself. Hurricane Sandy drowned it, but we're looking for another one right now......

Congrats on discovering the fun of Sportys!

I personally prefer the Sporty to a Wide Glide. Devin (the "D" in DK) prefers his Wide Glide to a Sporty.

However, after doing the NRHS 1250 conversion on my Sporty, the Sporty walks away from his Wide Glide...so now he is shopping for an engine upgrade on his WG. lol

I like how nimble the Sportys are...they are just a lot of fun! Especially in the twistys.

A fun bike it surely is. Im sure glad the guy I got it from had just put new tires on it.lol I just put tires on my WG and the 180 was 329$ My Sportster is a carbed bike and it fired up this Morning no problem. It was like 43 degrees and I hit the choke and it started right up.

The only ones who don't like a Sporty never rode a Sporty. I've had three and am working on getting an Ironhead as my 4th and to have a second bike. Who wouldn't want to have 2 Sportsters?
