Thinking of swapping my sporty for a Wide Glide. I want a bigger bike but don't think I want a bagger style bike yet. Should I do the deal or keep riding the sportster? I don't do alot of long trips but just looking for a little more comfort when I do ride.
The only thing I would say about switching from the sporty to a wide glide, is the wide glides rake. It will handel a lot different compared to the sportster. I would go for a super glide or a street bob if handeling is a factor for you. If not go for the wide glide. It's not too bad to get used to but you will notice the difference in the front end.
I rode a sporty once and I remember it being nimble, not a bad ride. But for me nothing compares to be stretched out on my WG. Still pretty nimble, not as much as a sporty, but built for comfort, around town riding or across the country!
I would definitely go with any dyna over a sporty. The one thing I've heard you have to be cautious about with the wide glide is the skinny front tire likes to follow every groove/crack in the road.
For me the WG Dyna is the perfect bike. I have never owned a Sportster, but I have had touring. Got really tired of dragging floorboards and sluggish handling. In the end, it's whatever lights your fire. They say the new touring bikes ( 09 and up) handle great. I would like to test ride a Road Glide and see. They sure look nice.

I would agree with the front tire handling when I had the stock Dunlops. But with the MCII's I have absolutely no problem with grooves or cracks.

I'm with you on that, I would love to have a road glide
