I have a 1973 Ironhead 1000cc sportster. It has a really long front end on it and want to change over to a stock length front end. I want to also change over to a disc brake in front. Looking to buy a later sportster (1974-1980) complete front end. Which years of the 70's ironheads with disc brakes are interchangable with early 70's ironheads (my 73). Are they all interchangeable? thanks

 

Yep. Just change the neck cups if you get a front end with a 1" stem.

 

How long, what type? I'm looking to go the other way...
