100+ mph with or without...
...windshields?
Curious about those that hit good speeds. I find that with the scoot's riding geometry and forward pegs, anything above 70-75 mph with strong frontal winds, causes tremendous drag as well as the engine having to work much harder.
Not that I'm a speed freak but I do like to push it once in a while on the highways. So for those that do, do y'all use shields?
Just ordered a National Cycle deflector dx...hope it helps, coz presently its just plain tiring and white knuckling coz its very windy here.

Thanks but I find the forward mounts and tank hugging are tough to sustain for long. I do reduce my ride profile, practically mate with the dang tank, bust my vertebra into a jarring C shape, but still unsustainable for too long. Have to constantly fight the wind.
What about comments from those with shields...vast improvement or minor?

I love my windshield for anything over 70 mph to keep the wind from beating on my chest. I don't like it at all in the city limits, though, thus I love my quick-detach. worth every penny, just wish you didn't have to spend an additional $40 just for the option of locking the already-easy-to-steal-expensive-item.

For long (all day) rides at 75+ mph, a windshield is the only way to go IMO, especially with forward controls. Who the hell want's to ride all day with your chest pressed to the gas tank, let alone being folded like a clam if you've got forwards?
I've had the bike up to ~115 mph with the shield, no problem.
