Default removing sprocket cover nightster

Hi I want to paint my sprocket cover black on my nightster. Do I have to remove the exhaust pipe to take the cover off?? Just checking with you guys first to see. I hope it's just the 6 screws and done? Let me know.

64 views and no one can tell me if the pipe has to come off!!??????

Remove the cover you will need to unbolt the right side rear shock to do it. Should go back on simple enough with the left side shock still on.

Maybe I'm just confused, but why would he have to unbolt the shock to remove the sprocket cover? I took mine off without removing/unscrewing anything else.

Someone is probably confusing the chain guard with the sprocket cover.

Yes you'll have to take off the front exhaust or atleast loosen it up.

you could go buy the correct allen wrench or allen bit and a 1/4 inch combo wrench. im on mobile so i cant see what pipes you have. i took my cover off without removing pipe.

thanks guys!! I had to loosen the head pipe on the rear pipe. Wiggled it out. I painted it flat black, it looks sick.
