EBC Pads Squeal Like Crazy!
I just had to replace my rear brake pads, it's a '93 Sporty. I think the rears were original because the bike only had 11,000 miles on it when I picked it up. I installed a set of EBC "kevlar" pads that I got from J&P. The pads squeal like crazy, it's driving me insane, never had pads on a bike do this. The old one had a little squeak once in a while, but these are horrible whe stopping, starting and go slow through a parking lot.
Anyone have problems with these EBC kevlar pads? What should I get instead, I need to bring these back.....

I did clean the rotor with brake part cleaner, cleaned and lubed the caliper guide pins too. I did'nt see a need to sand the pads and the rotors arent really worn much, bike does'nt have a lot of miles on it for the year. I called J&P and they wont return them for exchange either....guess I got screwed....

I've run EBC Green Stuff brake pads on my (2) Ford Rangers for close to 20 years, by far the best pads I've ever used, and I've tried them all. They last over 40K miles and no squealing from any of them, and my rotors are doing fine.
Their customer service is excellent in my opinion, I emailed and mentioned that the phone number on the box was incorrect, and they sent me a brand new set of pads for free as a thank you gesture, now I've got another set ready to go after another 40K on my Ranger. At $80 a set, that's pretty good customer relations.
Have not used their motorcycle pads, but maybe take some emory cloth and rough up the surfaces of the rotor a bit, that might help.

Mine squealed for a little bit, then stopped, I did lots of in town slow braking being careful not to get them hot while they broke in they did stop squealing, after a bit. If you have gotten them hot they may have a glaze on them and a braking the glaze with a little sand paper may help.
