Default Does the tank on 48 look too low?

Is it just me or the tank on the 48 look too low? I had a pic of me taken riding the bike recently and never really observed it before. What are your thoughts?

I think once you relocate the coil and ignition you almost have to raise any sportster tank up. The bottom line of the tank needs to follow the same angle as the spine of the frame, IMO.

No, looks too high with that free space under it.

I am starting to agree with this idea. I just don't want to loose any fuel capacity. Maybe a lifted 3.1 gal tank is what I am looking for.

I think it's just because the tank is so damn small it makes it look too low.

As an avid hater of tank lifts I'd say yours is perfect. Tank lifts just ruin clean lines, especially on a bike with low bars, and look rinky dink as hell.

Tank lifts on Sportys are all about looks. (Twin Cams are a different matter).

On the 48 and 72 tank, you can tuck the wires and relo the coil/key without a tank lift. On the 3.3 gallon tanks, it is much easier to do a wire tuck with a tank lift.

I personally like the look of a lifted tank...stretches the bike out a bit, and like Bronco, to me it just looks better if the bottom of the tank follows the lines of the backbone.

Grandcuda and Here don't like the look.

From that picture, it looks like my brain buckets holds as much fuel as my tank.

It's not that I don't like the look....I hate the look.

That, of course, is simply my opinion.
