Default 1200 with drag bars?

Anyone have a picture of their 1200 with drag bars without the stock riser? I have a vision in my mind of getting some drag bars and mounting them down on the top of the forks to give me a more forward aggressive riding position. But from looking at the bike, this raises a few problems.

One, will the controls clear the 4.5 gallon tank

And two what to do with the speedo once you take off the hollow shell that acts as the riser. I've seen RSD makes a speedo bracket that'd work, but I'm curious to see what everyone has come up with. Let me know if I'm just crazy too!

Yea I've been able to find a fair amount of pictures like that, but I'm wondering if they'll work without the stock riser. Awesome looking bike though man!

Here is my 04 when I bought it. The first thing I removed was the drag bags because they were too low and hit the tank at the same time they hit the stop.

Or how about this, maybe just doing a setup like the 48? Just lowering the stock handlebars down?

That is what I did. I'm using some Nightster bars on 2" risers.

I presume you know that you have 3 Deutsche connectors inside your riser block. I have a 2002 1200C that I am changing over to 14" apes and am going to end up having to cut out the right and left switch cable deutsche connectors and solder in lengthening wires. I am still trying to figure out how to hide my Tach and speedo deutsche connector.
If I were you I would save myself a bunch of heartache and just put dragbars through your existing riser, that's how mine was and it was pretty aggressive looking. I just decided to go with apes ... much more comfortable for long rides.
Good luck to you.
