Default These ARE THE Boxes, and what to put in 'em!

These are the Boxes to use to mail packages to Deployed Service Members. No matter what the post office tells ya, they send these boxes to any APO/FPO for $8.10, no matter what it weighs!
Some helpful hints;
Put each item in a Ziplock bag, each item, helps keep the cookies from tasteing like the Roll on Deodorant!
Pack Magazines on the bottom and the top and pack softer items to the Outside. These boxes ship very well but they do not receive Tender loving Care in route! Fill out the paper work before you get to the PO. Do not attempt to ship any glass containers or Spray cans (deodorant) they most times do not make the trip. Small games like chess and checkers, decks of cards are good non food items along with books of ANY kind, comics out of the paper, Magazines, no matter the issue Dates, are all good. Pictures of you and the Family, CD's, movies, OLD TV shows all this stuff is welcomed.
IF you decide to ship an item that is,like the one I shipped that contained PORK,DO NOT list that item on the CustomsForm!

Best information I have found, and sent a lot of this stuff when Matt was deployed.

******,

You didn't mention that you can have the boxes (empty and flat) delivered to your door via USPS. Saves a trip to the post office. The link to order boxes is here. Free flat rate boxes

actually there is a 70 lb weight limit (would have send lead to get it to weigh that much) my wife sends me one at least once a month (cookies, biker mags, candy, etc.) - remember that it takes an avg of 1 1/2 weeks to reach Iraq from the US even tho my last package was mailed on Jan 21 and I got it here on the 29th - the fastest by far. one thing my wife sends from march to oct that is a big hit is ICE POPS just about every living area has a freezer and they are great when it is 120 outside

As an Army Service member, I would like to thank you all for posting something like this on your forum. This means a lot to me and my fellow brothers and sisters in the Armed Services.

Alright, that said, you can also make donations or send gifts via your local U.S.O or contact your local F.R.G. (Family Readiness Group) Just another way to help.
