Default Tire

Unless the SE has a 5" rim, neither will work for you. 2009 is when Harley went to the 5"wheel.

For the 5" wheel, my preference is a 195. I think it behaves better.

Well, I guess you could pull the tire and measure the width of your rim. Looking in your owners manual may be easier though.

Personally, I doubt you have a 5" wheel, which means you can put the taxi tire on.

I eatly appreciate the list. My roadie/mech took a look underneath and made the call pretty close that a 205 just was not going to happen without some reshapen!!!!! I said "Hell No!!!!" So now I am off to find a Yoko 195-60-16 and see who gives me the best deal. We are headn off to So. Padre Isl in about 2mo. Need to get it mounted and broke in and used to it. Thanks!!!

As long as your bike is a 2009 or newer and the rear end is stock a 205 will most definitely fit. Not saying it is the better choice (I don't have any 195 experience) just that it will fit. Should be 3/16 to 1/4" clearance between the tire and belt.

Personally I am very happy with the way my 205 handles. I matches my riding style very well.

Since the OP has a 2008 I do not believe that he can run either tire. The 2008s have the narrower rear end. I think the only CT that fits is an Austone Taxi tire.

Are you sure that tire will fit your bike? I thought that to run the 195 or 205 tires the bike had to be 2009 or newer... Does the '08 CVO have a wider rear end than the stock "08s?

We measured my tire from the widest part around contact side with a soft tape and then measured a 195 at the store, should have about 1/2" clearance, total. 1/8th to 1/4" per side. We shall see!!! If not, I will have a 195 for sale.

Quick Reply: 205 or 195 for my first DS tire!!!
