Default Is a dyno necessary with a new power commander?

Hey,

Re: 2013 Ultra CVO w/ 4000 miles.

Before I took delivery of the new bike, I had V&H pipes, power commander and dyno done by the selling HD dealer.

My bike hesitates and sometimes stalls coming out of the hole. The bike has been to this same dealer twice for this issue. Today (3rd time in for this prob), they tell me that I need a new power commander installed. Old commander is bad. Part of the new commander deal is that the bike has to be dyno'ed again.

I am being taken by a steal-er-ship for this new dyno test? Priced at $1000 (5 hrs of labor at $89/hr) for a new power commander and new dyno test.

This does not pass the smell test to me. But I could be wrong again.

Thanks

Without knowing all the details. I have a couple of questions that you could ask.

If you do need a new PC. What is a matter with the old one? Is it a brick? Can they get the map uploaded off of it? Where did they get the map they put on it in the first place? If that map was created on their dyno. Does the dyno computer have a copy of it? Why is a tune needed?

If the PC is actually bad. Sounds like it is a great time to upgrade to a flash tuner. If the HD dealership can't deal with the SE tuner. That would be a red flag for me.

The Power Commander just neuters your bike. You are an hour away from http://www.cnsspeedshop.com/. Trust him, he will make you happy.

Reflash to stock. Remove current tuner Buy a $300 Fp3, 15 minutes of your time and flash tune it. Tell dealer to have a nice day. Done.
