The fly in the ointment is the 203; if you must use a HD cam, go for the 204 or 211.

Funny, mine is in the shop for the EXACT same thing, though the dealer said I would have to pay for about 4 hours of labor above what the warranty work covered for the valve stem seals. Mine is an '05 FLHTI. If the dealer is only going to charge you for parts I would say that is a hell of a deal!

You will get many different answers to your question of "is it worth it". Some love it, some say don't waste your money. I'm hoping to have mine back by Wednesday so I'll let you know what I think of it from the ride home. If the weather is nice I hope to get in at least 100 miles, though the dealer is about 20 from the house.

Is yours carb'd or EFI? If EFI, are you planning to get the download or go with a Power Commander, SERT, etc.?

Do it and don't look back. I'd go with either the 203 or 204, 204's are great. See if they'll do a 5 angle valve job and use a .03 cometic HG. I had the same deal with my dealer and I'm thrilled with the results. I actually used Wood cams. You can see the dyno in my photos.

I agree, most dealers charge around $1,400.00 for parts and labor. I would do it in a heartbeat.

The question is: Do YOU want it?

As has been mentioned, it will need tuning... which means ECM flash - at a bare minimum. Better would be a tuning device like a SERT or PCIII and a dyno tune.

If you could convince them to install a set of Andrews 26's or HQ-0034's instead of the S/E cams, you would get much better results and be happier. Perhaps they would let you provide the cams it you buy the pistons and jugs from them...???...

The 203"s aren't a bad cam for waking it up a bit with the 95 but the 204 will raise the torque up a bit in the power band. Depends on the type of riding you do which one would be best for you.

More torque in the 1700-4800 rpm range with the 203 and 1800-5200rpm with the 204. Like the man said it depends where you ride most.
