What's the cost, and time frame on these test, I'd be willing to send mine in, I just use HD 20-50 Dino, maybe anyone else using different oils then ones posted, have it anylysed, we can post. And compare, although different conditions, heat, riding habits ect may differ, still get a medium

Redline 20/60
Here is the test from this summer. It was the first time I tested the oil in this motor. I used 2 quarts in a little over 4k miles. I am going to run a few more tests to see what's up

I've used the Quicksilver v twin oil for the past 2 summers. I have run Amsoil and M1 prior 7 years in my RK an E/glide. The Quicksilver is the quietest oil I have used, ever. It feels like oil, not thin like the other 2 brands. I won't use anything else. No test's will be needed by me. I buy it at Wally for $22/gal

Thats why dont use redline & or amsoil because they are a pia to find and is why i run mobil-1 20-50 v-twin syn oil in the motor on my bike, its sold at most stores and is widely avail along with it also being a decent quality bike oil too.

I rvu'd extensive oil testing done on 17 diff motorcycle oils in some std dino/some semi-blend/some full syn in 20-50 grade and amsoil came in 1st place,m1 v-twin syn 20-50 came in a close-strong second to amsoil , and to my surprise HD's syn3 20-50 came in 4th of the 17 bike oils tested in 20-50 grade.

So the fact that m1's syn 20-50 v-twin oil did very in extensive oil testing coming in a strong 2nd along with being able to buy it locally when needed is important (esp when on the road) iis why i decided to go with it a few yrs back in my prior bike and now in the new to me as of 11/2014 an 09 electraglide ultra classic that had only 9,700 miles on it too.

Reg price for the m1 bike oil by me is $10.99 but its on sale at autozone 2x-3x yrly for $8.99 & is when i stock up it for future oil changes.

Scott

I was able to post it because when paying for a UOA (from Blackstone) you will receive both a letter and an email of your results. I just copy/past my email into my remarks.
Blackstone will send you the sample bottles and instructions at no cost. You pay when you send a sample in; $25 for a standard sample, $10 add on if you want to check your TBN (useful life left in your additive package..). On your sample send-in you can ask them to look for something specific,, like I did with silicon (dirt). I had been doing most of my riding out to Vegas and AZ and with the dirtier air I was curious how my air filter was holding up.
So, I think I got my money's worth on both the oil and the test. I also like to 'watch' the wear metals for signs of bearing wear.. and ring scuffing.
For me; a UOA is the best form of preventative maintenance that is available.

I run mobile 1 in my other bike which had 19k miles and have done well in the 3 tests I did with it. I'm going to switch to redline 20/50 in the 124

I assume the quicksilver oil you run is 20w-50 ,but is it std dino/semi-blend/or full syn?

Thanks.....Scott

The quick silver is synthetic , I have been running mobil 1 15/50 for a while. I have never had it tested but my curiosity is up now.
