Ooops. You are correct. I was thinking he had a 96". Glad you pointed that out.

I just got off the phone with Frank at Drago's and he's definitely a cool dude that sounds like he knows his stuff. His offering , based on my current application, is a 97" kit with pistons and cylinders for $650. It'll come with all the gaskets and whatnot and he said the compression ratio would be 9.8:1 with my stock heads. I asked him about the compression relief option and told him what cams I'm currently running and after he did a little computer research, he said I shouldn't have any issues with my starter.

Being that I'm not really that interested in upgrading the heads right now, this seems like a better option for me.

Why not go with the 95" cylinder and piston kits from SE (Harley)? They're a proven combination and excellent quality. Yes, excellent quality. You'll get over a 100K miles out of them. Probably cheaper than a lot of the after market stuff anyway. There's no advantage in going to a 97" bore. None. Maybe 1 horsepower or 2. Certainly not worth spending any money on.

I don't know what mileage you have on your bike, but adding cubes/ compression to an 11 yr old bike may be a problem down the line. You could send the heads to big boyz for a mild port and valve job, check and replace your seals. That's what I did to my dyna when I bumped it up to 95 and it only had 17,000 miles on it.the current owner has over 55,000 on the new top end. The only change he made was to replace the jagg 6 row cooler with a 10row. Good luck and have fun w/ your project.
