Default sissy bar bags and packing tents

for you guys that go tent camping on your bike, how do you pack your tent on the bike with all your other luggage? so far i been lucky that my buddy has hauled my stuff in his big rv. if i had a tour pack i could just put it on top of that but i dont. also i need to get a tent for the ole lady and me with a little more room than my 2 person tent. what y'all using? i was looking at this one.

It's kinda' a Trial and Error thing! Each bike and rider are all a little different because you may carry different equipment and gear. But once you figure out what works where, you'll remember it for the life of your bike. A lot like a Jigsaw puzzle sometimes. Best to lay everything out on the ground around the bike and vision "what" should go "where" first.

Adding a luggage rack and sissy bar will increase your options. When I ride solo I put a t bag on the passenger pillion and secure tent, sleeping bag and pad to luggage rack. Check out the Saddleman s3500 it is a great bag, its very rigid, has full zipper openings on both sides that makes digging in the bag a breeze

This is my bike in solo mode. The green waterproof sea bag has my sleeping bag, stove, tent, sleep pad, utensils, fuel, and some food. The T bag carries clothes and the saddle bags general stuff.

I know this is total overkill and ugly as sin but it works for me...

5 dollar Lowes shelf attached to a detachable tourpak rack.
Yes, I need to paint it black or something. Just didn't care. Works and carries so much crap. Easy on, easy off, and no one want's to steal it. lol

Here is a pic of my setup when camping. Tent, sleeping bag, and chair all in the back seat. If you are going two-up, you could strap the tent to the top of the sissy bar bag or take the tent out of its bag and stuff it in the luggage.

I have a like new T-Bags for sale right now I'll cut you a deal on if you're interested. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gear-...-like-new.html

i was looking at the saddlemen s3500 as well but its got a hefty price with it. how do you secure it from someone walking by and opening it? zip tie the zippers? how do you pack the tent when riding 2up? tent is usually heavy so it would crush the bag if on top so it probably has to go on bottom or packed into the luggage bag. my ohlins are definitely going to get a workout.
what kind of tent? need something big enough for 2 and would like it big enough to stand up and change clothes but small enough to pack on the bike

The tent you linked to

Folded Size In Carry Bag: 30.3’’ X 9.8’’ X 9.8’’ (L X W X H)

That seems huge to me. That would take up a lot of real estate back there. I'm interested in getting a tent too. I want to make a trip to Glacier Park in the next year or 2. I'll be riding solo, and I have a tour pak. I'm looking for a rear seat bag as well. I would like to hear what these guy's tents measure folded up.

yeah i can stack it pretty high with the sissy bar! the tent does seem a little big but i was thinking that if i got the s3500 i could put the cover in the roll bag and the poles between the roll bag and the lower bag. but that tent would be nice cause you could park the bike under it when theres a storm
