Default Painted Inner Fairing Question - Part 2

Hey all, Thanks for the earlier feedback (No Regrets)

I have a guy in mind he is in Hazelton PA (2 hours away) - Iron Hawg Custom Motorcycles.
his price was $400 remove/paint/reinstall. He uses PPG Paint which he has the code for my 2012 Deep Purple.

I also have another guy (30 minutes away) who has done car paint for me.
He does nice work but he uses Dupont paint which I cant find a paint code for the Deep Purple. He said he would match to my side cover. I remove fairing and bring it to him, he will paint it for $150.

What would you do, any input is appreciated?

How handy and patient are you? Also whats the time table for both options? I went the $150 option.

Could you remove it your self and take it to the guy 2 hours away, will he then do it for $150?

All the major paint lines can or should be able to get a decent match, if they don't have a formula one can be acquired using a spectrophotometer ( camera ), hence the need for the side cover. Nothing wrong with Dupont.

Lots of 'how to' info out there on swapping the fairing..do it...buy beer with all the money yer saving

I would go with the option for the best possible match. You're going to be staring at it a lot. $400 is reasonable.

If you can do the R&R and are willing to spend $400 then you might consider buying the HD painted one at a 20% off sale day. (Think I paid $480 plus tax). Sell the old one afterwards.
You get the inner faring, switch cover, and new side rubbers.

Then you know it will match.

I think $400 is reasonable. Let him do it and make and than it will be his problem. The rubber pieces do not go back on theswitch cover. Harley is ppg paint

Tinman, Where can you get a Harley painted inner fairing for this price ?

What I would need is for a 2013 Candy Orange RoadGlide. Part number 58722-DPU MSRP is about $1100. If it were close in price to having mine painted, I'd definitely go this way; but, it's more than 2X.

Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. THANKS
