Default I want to add Apes to my 2015 Street Glide Special

Need some advice on how to go about changing out stock handle bars and grips. Not sure where to begin? I'm looking into some 14" apes but there are sooo many to choose from. I also know I'm limited because of fairing. I don't really like the the curvy style. I'm looking at the more straight style apes. I also know I might have to change out cables due to reach?? How much am I looking at with new bars, grips, cables, labor?? Will I have to add new mirrors?? I'm not comfortable doing it myself, so I will need to find a shop to do the labor. I like chrome so that would be my choice. Can anyone give me ideas and maybe some locations in my area?? Southern Calif. I have many HD's in my area but I also know that is going to be top dollar! Maybe you can post some pics of what you guys chose on your SGS. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

There's been some recent quotes done by other members, you're looking at anywhere from $800 to $1500 if you utilize a dealer. An Indy shop could do it for less, $600 or maybe a tad below.

I did mine myself, but Ive had wrench experience and wasn't afraid to try, as new as the bike is to me.. It cost about $300-$400 total and two evenings of my time.

The bars are from KST Kustoms. They're 14", They cost $250-ish and I was able to use my stock cables, but you'll want +6 longer cables if you're inclined. Needs wiring extensions, 10" will work well. You'll want poly bushings, they're $15. Basically that's all you need. I opted for some extras, heated grips, mirrors, lighted switches, but that parts up to your preference.

If you're look'n to have a shop do this...be prepared for some "sticker shock." Parts & labor for 14" bars will run $1000 - $1500, depending on what parts/brands are chosen. To make this easy, look in your local yellow pages for an indy shop and discuss w/them...they's take your ideas, budget & bike and turn it into a reality. Good luck!

Do non "curvy" bars even exist for batwing bikes? The fairing gets in the way, thus the "curvy"

Thanks fellows
I will look into the Indy shops and see what they can do for me. I know HD will do it right but have me broke by the end.

I went with 14" Vindiktas. HD Dealer quoted 4 hours and stick to it. That was doing heated grips also. With that height you can still use your fairing mirrors typically.

I went with chrome and also changed controls to chrome and braided clutch and brake lines. (I'm just spending your money...)

Changing the bars was one of the easiest things I have done on my bike. If you have a service manual, it will walk you through it. I got my Wild Ones for less than $200...dealer quoted me $1,000 to install...crazy! took me less than 2 hours.

Mine are 14" LA CHopper Twin Peak Apes. I also braided out the lines, Chromed the MC covers, chrome switch housings & HD stealth grips. Added the teardrop mirrors afterwards. Entire job was $1500 for everything including accessories. But it was done right by a very good shop. NOT an HD dealer. I was fine with the price too. here's a couple pics.
