Wow bend over huh. I buy a lot at my local dealer but Labor is not one of them. Those guys are just too high in my opinion. Mine quoted over $600 us. Local shop was $400 AND That was with me pulling the wheels and bringing then to him off the bike.

Isn't that something? And yet I've got friends, not rich guys by any means that wouldn't go anywhere other than the dealer. I'm a cheap bastage. I get my tires from someone like Dennis Kirk and have a local Indy put them on. It's a no brainer for my cheap azz.

I've considered buying a tire machine for this reason. Dealer charges 60 to mount and balance a tire. Cycle gear is 40

OP just curious where did you source your tires etc. from?

I've looked on the Canada's Motorcycle website they seem to be pretty reasonable.

YIKES!

My last tire change cost me a total of $340. Bought the tires (front and rear) from Denniskirk, removed the wheels myself and paid $20/tire for mount an balance.

I too keep thinking about buying a manual tire machine, so I can just do it all myself. I can just use Dyna beads to balance.

I got mine at motorcycle superstore, took wheels off myself. Found a small private own repair shop, mounted them both for $50. Total for everything 325.00

Just finished putting new tires on my Fatboy rims and will put them on the bike this weekend. Bout $320 for stock size Dunlop 401 & 402 WWW (from Amazon), $25 for three tire irons & 2 rim protectors (from Amazon), $15 for Tyrebeads (same as Dynabeads) and $50 for front and read bearings for the wheels. A little time and effort but as opposed to what I see people paying.......just can't justify bringin it somewhere when I can do it with a bit of time and effort.
