2012 Ultra Classic with xm garmin
Looking for some information,
I purchased a used 2012 ultra classic about a month ago. There were two wires ran out the fairing to accept a male plug. Removed fairing a found that they run to a garmin/xm puck. mounted under the puck is a flat black box. Can someone tell me what this system is?

all pucked up eh
the one wire is for the xm antena-- as previous post said the serial number to subscribe will be under the puck. the other wire im guessing is the one that ran from the garmin base down bar inside fairing and probably came back out the fairing and plugged into the auxilay input in bottom righ corner of your harmon kardon hd radio. the base in pic looks like the guy made a base and bolted it to the radio mount to hold the puck i just mounted mine in top of my cb modual..base is magnetic and i put couple of dabs of silicone just to keep it from moving around on mine

The bracket the puck is sitting on is your nim interface it sends turn by turn instructions to your stock head unit by overriding what ever music source you are using, CD,FM, ect. you are fortunate that you have the updated one part # 8357-11A as the original 8357-11 had volume problems there is a lengthy thread on here about low volume if using your garmin for XM or as an MP3 player. If you change to an aftermarket radio the only way you will get turn by turn is if you are using the garmin for a music source it cannot override the CD player or FM like the nim can with the stock HU, pretty neat deal.
