Default Awesome ramp free trailer

After purchasing an Ace single rail trailer and testing it out I decided to send it back. Too unsafe to load the bike, just didn't trust the whole setup. After careful research, price shopping, etc I found a builder from Indiana who builts this Ramp Free trailer. Sadly the company went out of business and they had just 1 trailer left over... So guess what? I purchased it. Now this is what a real trailer should be, hassle free loading, simple, safe, lightweight and a well engineered trailer...

Now that's an idea that I might explore to have someone build when I get back to the U.S. What did it cost you and did it come with any kind of operations manual a builder could use to fabricate one?

I like that design. Same design would be good for a utility trailer as well. Too bad they went out of business.

How much force does it take on the trailer tongue to raise the trailer into towing mode? Is that how it's done?

This is a great idea; however, one concern for me would be how the trailer remains in the towing position. Is the bed of the trailer held up only by the winch strap or are there pins/bolts to secure it to the trailer frame?

If there isn't, I think I would be looking at making that modification for security and safety.

You can see the pins in several photos. The first photo shows them in place and the 4th photo shows them removed. It looks like a very cool design. I wonder if they made a two bike trailer.

Ahh yup, your right. Didn't see them in the first photo and didn't look that close in the 4th.

Baxley Trailers has been making a similar design for years. They were also one of the first with a locking motorcycle wheel chock.

Yes they make a 2 bike trailer. Friend of mine has one. The 2 bike trailer was around 3600 OTD 2 yrs ago. You can move the rails around so it can haula single bike or also a side by side . He also had a Kendon 2 place trailer. He likes the Ramp Free much better.
