I just went from a 2004 Heritage to a 2015 RK. My only gripe is I don't like looking thru a windshield. I ordered a 16 incher from HD. The Heritage seems more compact than the RK, the RK is definitely larger feeling. It took me about 100 miles to get comfortable w/the RK. While its not going to handle like a dyna, its not a barge either. The bike handles well but I find I need to set my turns and windies up earlier. My first 25 miles or so, well the RK was a little intimidating. I don't know if it was the 103HO vs. a TC88, the weight or what BUT it settled in great. The other thing is the RK does not have a balanced motor so at a light, youre rocking... I had he bike out today and totally fell in love with it..

I came from 8yrs. on my sportster to my 14 king which I'd always wanted and love it as does my wife. It's the classic Harley in my opinion with so many options to dress it up or down. We're equally at home carving the back roads and twisties to touring its one comfortable bike plain and simple and so easy to handle once you acclimate to its size/wgt.

Thank you for all your inputs. This was great info. I am leaning to the RK. I like the idea of changing the bike to how I want to ride that day. Made me wonder when Capttawes said it is an unbalanced motor. Pretty much what I have been running but in a 103. Now to find one. Might be trading up at Sturgis.

These bikes shake at idle just a little but nothing like my previous sporster did and are super smooth on the highway.
There will be some good deals around shortly if you can find the color you want. With the new models soon to be announced dealers want to move the old stock.

I kept my Dyna, Purchased a RK, lowered the seat (MCC) and installed a tinted 14" windshield using the stock windshield hardware. I have yet to take the windshield off it provides a perfect amount of protection from exposure.
My Ol' lady is always great to wanta go riding, she don't bitch when we take the Dyna, but absolutely loves the king.
I always said my next bike would have a fairing, changed my opinion quickly once I started shopping.
The RK came as we wanted a touring bike minus the shorter shield and shaved seat and provides many options for future i.e. tourpak.

Moving from a dyna to a bagger. Got some good info on the glides. I would like some on the king. What's the concerns? Is there buffeting from the shield? Is adding a bathing worth it? I know it is higher so is lowering it a pain? Any handling concerns? I like the no radio option . That is the draw to the road king? Cool bike. Thank you in advance.
