Default 21" front on '07 FLHP

I want to add a 21" front to my '07 FLHP with Nissin ABS system. I'm told going to the 21" will throw codes on the ABS as it measures wheel revolutions and not stoppage. I am willing to eliminate the ABS but this would be be Plan B. I understand it's also a good idea to lower the front a bit to improve handling so comments/recomendations on that would also be appreciated.

That ABS is based off the magnets on the rotors so if you use the stock rotors it should still function as it does now. The newer ABS systems differ between years but the 07 system was the only year utilizing magnets on the rotors.

Default thanks Hogpro

Thanks for the information. I was told by the dealer that that Nissin unit measures rotations and calibrates with the rear wheel so adding a 21" wouldn't work as the rotations would be different. I can send my factory rotors out to chrome so I would be more than willing to keep them if the unit still works. I guess I'll get the wheel and start there.

Maybe it does but I am not aware of that. Granted, I don't ever get a bike in here with that system on it. The 2014 and 2015 ABS models function like that. The 2008-2013 models do not function like that.

How do you get a ABS brake to work when you don't have an ABS bike?
